Green Belts are professionals trained in advanced analysis and resolution of problems following the 6 sigma methodology. This training allows them to implement lean 6 sigma projects within their departments or participate in a variety of improvement projects along the organization in a team leader capacity.
Depending on the organization, they may hold a full-time position in quality or continuous improvement, or be a resource with a valued skillset to be allocated to specific projects in addition to other roles and responsibilities they may carry. They usually work alongside a Black Belt.
Green Belts are problem solvers, thus highly desirable within any team. They are methodical and usually involved in identifying and maximizing improvement opportunities. Typically, their involvement leads to increased effectiveness and reduced risks through the application of a data-based decision-making framework.
